Tibooburra and Sturt National Park.
Make a day trip to Tibooburra and the state’s largest arid zone park named after the explorer Charles Sturt. Pass hills on the east of the highway named after John Macdouall Stuart, a member of Sturt’s party.
Tibooburra has a range of great locations for meals and drinks, as well as a new community museum, the National Park’s headquarters and courthouse museum. A heritage trail map is located on signage near the public school.
Try your hand at prospecting on the Tibooburra Common, permits are available at the local stores.
Pick up a guide to Sturt National Park and follow trails through amazing landscapes before returning to Milparinka.
